This Protection Plan is designed to help when real-world issues—like rodent damage, cooling system problems, engine or inverter stress, or environmental conditions—cause a battery failure that the standard warranty doesn’t cover. This plan also reimburses diagnostic & towing fees which is not covered under the standard warranty.
What happens if my standard warranty expires?
The Protection Plan is separate from the standard warranty. However, when your standard warranty ends, so does your extended protection plan.
Does this cover rodent damage and cooling system issues?
Yes. Rodent damage, airflow restrictions, cooling fan issues, and debris-related cooling problems are common causes of hybrid battery failure that are typically not covered by standard warranties, but may be covered under this plan if approved.
Are diagnostics and towing really included?
Yes! If your claim is approved, and you yield diagnostic, towing and/or rental fees, we’ll reimburse up to $150 for each claim. A $450 value
How many replacements are allowed?
The plan allows one approved battery replacement per rolling 12-month period. This helps ensure fair and sustainable coverage for all customers.
What type of replacement battery will I receive?
The Hybrid Geek selects the replacement battery, which will be of equal or better quality than the failed battery. The replacement carries the remaining duration of your original warranty.
Can I cancel the Protection Plan?
Yes. You can cancel at any time. Payments already made are non-refundable, but there is no long-term contract.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Coverage pauses immediately if a payment is missed. You can reinstate coverage by paying missed payments plus a $350 reinstatement fee.
